Hello Everyone,

I realise that we've not updated The Web Video Co blog for a while!

We've been really busy with other work related things, and I've been doing some thinking recently and decided that although I really enjoy blogging and recording videos about video stuff - I'd also like to start talking about various other things too.

So shortly, I will be moving the contents of this blog onto a new website - probably under my own name. Where I will talk about Video Production, Website Development and General 'Running an internet business' kind of stuff.

I hope you like it and should have something very shortly for you. I'll keep you all updated as and when it launches!

Speak Soon,

James Mulvany

Starting Out In Video

If you are making a web video, chances are you have no serious credentials to rely on (unless you are a pro at videographing). The good news is that making a web video is actually done by people who have very little experience crafting the video. You don’t have to specialize in a college major on art and film to make your own web video. Professional filmmakers actually have their credibility to justify and must not make mistakes that will turn people away. You, on the other hand, can afford to make mistakes and will be applauded for good work since you are new at it. Making a web video is nothing at all like creating a motion picture! Simply master some very simple techniques and your video will be ready to roll.

The Importance of Web Video Optimization

Optimization Introduction

When you upload a video that you’ve filmed, you’re probably not going to be able to upload in the same format in which you originally shot it.  This is simply because video files are normally huge in size and would actually cause a hefty weight to be placed on the uploading server.  Since these videos need to be sized down, you must optimize your web video for better results.  Many people who are in the stages of making and distributing their own web video don’t understand that it is of utmost importance to actually optimize the video they make for web purposes.
